FILM APPLICATORS & COATERS

The Automatic film applicator provides a reliable basis to apply coating films to test charts, panels or foils in a uniform and reproducible way in order to eliminate variations caused by human factors. Variations in speed, pressure and direction of draw down cause irregularities. Other factors that may influence the result are the shear rate and the weight of the applicator.
Multiple types of automatic film applicators are available for either glass/paper/metal substrates or foils. All models can be used in combination with either standard block type film applicators such as bird/baker models, or spiral bar type film applicators (wire wound rod type) depending on the configuration chosen.

These glass application tables are used with film applicators and test charts for manual testing of film application and the measuring of hiding power of an applied coating. are equipped with a strong clamp to hold down the charts and four rubber feet to prevent the table from slipping.

Spiral bar coaters are used to apply a film on thin materials such as sheets or plastic, so that the hiding power of the coating can be measured. This range of products works on flexible substrates, and with motorized film applicators. 

The Quadruplex film Applicator has four application sides for applying paint films with four different predefined thicknesses, to determine the hiding power of a coating. they come in widths 60 or 80 mm.

A cylindrical film applicator, with 4 sides, for applying a coating of pre-defined thickness and width onto flat, relatively firm substrates. They give an indication of how thick a coating is required to adequately cover a substrate. They are suitable for applying a host of different coatings onto flat and relatively solid substrates. A prismatic film applicator, with 4 sides, for applying a coating of pre-defined thickness and width on flat, relatively firm substrates. They give an indication of how thick a coating is required to adequately cover a substrate. These applicator's are available in film widths of 50 mm 75 mm and 100 mm and are suitable for applying a host of different coatings onto flat and relatively solid substrates.
