This test is used to measure the adhesion of coatings on substrates. By drawing a multi-bladed cross hatch cutter across the surface coating, a lattice pattern of squares is produced. Special adhesive tape is applied over the lattice pattern and pulled off. The amount of surface coating removed indicates a pass or fail as per the ASTM/ISO Standards. These kits comprise of: a cross hatch cutter, an illuminated magnifying glass, a brush and roll of adhesive tape, all in a carry case.
